Butler BlueSox Presented by Northwood Realty Services

Pullman Park

Built in 1934, Pullman Park has hosted some of the greatest ballplayers of all time, including Joe DiMaggio, Lou Gehrig, and Josh Gibson. Farm teams with the Cleveland Indians, New York Yankees, Detroit Tigers, and Pittsburgh Pirates played at Pullman Park. The Butler Yankees played at Pullman Park from 1936 until 1942, and returned after World War II to play in the Middle Atlantic League. The minor league teams played in Butler until 1951 after which Pullman Park hosted numerous high school and college games.

.

In 2006, the Redevelopment Authority of Butler put forth plans to rebuild Pullman Park. The plans included complete renovations of the seating area, concession stand, and the field. The multi-million dollar renovation attracted the Butler BlueSox, of the Prospect League, who began play in 2009. The Park’s continues to host numerous local games throughout the summer.
